Northeast PA (NEPA) 2009 Meet:

In conjunction with the Pocono 500 & HIN PA I will host a meet for those showing/attending.



Invite is for 5-7 June (Fri-Sun) to accommodate travelers, provide a place to stay and give time for a get together (when not at the race or HIN event). I am only 32 miles from PNC Field and 14 miles from the track:




I can accommodate quite a few. My house used to be the general store and post & tax office. Available inside are two queen size pullout couches on first floor, and two futons & one double bed in finished attic. Floor space available for air mattresses and/or sleeping bags. Bathrooms on 1st & 2nd floor. Open floor plan so not a lot of privacy. Plenty of room to park and camp if anyone prefers to pitch a tent. Address is: 117 River Road, Thornhurst, PA 18424, 570-848-2965 (home number). MapQuest and some GPS will show the address as being 1/4 mile farther East than it really is. House number is on a mailbox on a stick out front. If you follow GPS directions I think it tells you to turn and you have reached your destination (problem is that would put you in the river).

My son wants to enter his second gen CRX in the competition.

Hot Import Nights Pennsylvania = the largest automotive lifestyle event in the world! It's a total sensory overload with car shows, model competitions, music performances, lots of free stuff and more! The action takes place 4PM - 11PM, June 6, 2009 at PNC Field.

I can get Pocono 500 tickets for Sunday, June 7th, in Section S14, rows 16 & 17 in the Concourse Vista South for $50.00 each. The track is only 14 miles from my house.

Info on PNC Field for HIN. It is the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees (Yankees minor league team) stadium and is only 32 miles from my house. It's in the opposite direction from where the race is so it should be less congested (relative to the raceway). If anyone wants to we can catch the Friday home game. I can get discount tickets from work for that too.

They both go fast so let me know soon

Today I am going to try to mow the yard but anyone who wants to show up today is welcome. Saturday we have roll-in between 12-2 so I'll have to take the Rex up to PNC Field for that since my son is working then. I will probably just stay up there until the show is over. My son will catch up to us after work. Sunday is gonna be a lazy day for relaxing and what not. So show up when you want. There will be someone at the house. If you're hungry tell someone and you'll get fed. Don't be shy. There aren't any schedules for any activities so you can do what you want when you want. I guess this is more like a "base camp" for whatever people want to do this weekend in the Poconos more so than a meet. If you fish there is a great trout stream across the street. As far as I know nobody that expressed an interest in this meet is going to the Yankees game tonight or the race Sunday. It looks like HIN is the attraction with a meet being secondary.
