2010 Carlisle P&S Club Tent

2010 Carlisle P&S Club Tent

Postby 4N2NR » 23 Jan 2010, 11:35

We have reserved a showfield tent (already registered and paid for) at the 2010 Carlisle Performance and Style, 8-9 May 2010, under the club name streetextremes. We are inviting several clubs and groups to hang out with us at the tent. If you would like to park in the group with us be sure to list streetextremes as the club on your registration form regardless of the club you are actually representing. We can figure out how to group the vehicles later (by club, year, make, model, etc.). This is being put together as a meet of automotive enthusiasts and not as a club of strictly show vehicles. All makes and models are welcome. Any stage of completion welcome. It doesn't matter if you have a car, truck, SUV or bike and it does not have to be show quality. In fact, there are a number of folks who are entering the non-judged show field as well as the judged. So for a fun filled weekend of vehicles, comraderie, and good stories (along with some tall tales and lies) you are invited to register your vehicle with and hang out at the streetextremes tent and burn a few burgers and dogs. Bring your own chairs. Remeber, a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet.

Use streetextremes (exact spelling is important) to park with your friends or club and still be a part of the showfield. Registration includes weekend admission for two people. After registering, a receipt will be emailed to you - please bring this receipt to the event. Multi-vehicle discounts available. Discount only applies to cars registered at the same address and purchased during a single order (Limit of 5). Carlisle Performance & Style
May 8 - May 9, 2010
Carlisle Fairgrounds, PA (an 82-acre complex)

If anyone is planning on attending, here are some money saving tips =

Entrance fees are:
Adult Admission: Sat. $20 /Sun. $15
Child Admission: under 12- FREE

To save money enter your vehicle and hang out at the StreetEXtremes club tent.
Besides getting an equivalent $90 value for only $40-50, you'll be parking your vehicle right in the middle of the show! Estimated costs to just attend the show for two people for both days is $90+ ($70 for 2 people for 2 days and $20 parking @ $10/day).
2010 Carlisle Performance & Style JUDGED Showfield, Price: $50.00, Register a car, truck, SUV, or sport bike to compete in the judged showfield. Registration includes weekend admission for two people.
2010 Carlisle Performance & Style NON-JUDGED Showfield, Price: $40.00, Register a car, truck, SUV, or sport bike for the NON-JUDGED showfield. Park with your friends or club and still be a part of the showfield. Registration includes weekend admission for two people.
Use StreetEXtremes as your club and park with all of us at the club tent on the show field.

If you need to stay in a hotel, don't call the hotels in Carlisle directly. They have the car shows schedule and jack up the prices for those weekends. If you go to the hotel chain's website and use the national call center number for whichever hotel you want, you'll get the normal going rate for a room based on what the national hotel chain thinks it should be. for example, the Econo lodge for the 2009 show wanted $135 a night when you called the front desk. This is crazy becasue its a Econo lodge! The national call center is quoting the same room for $75 a night. They are forced to honor it by federal sanctions. Once you book either online or through the call center, it is a legally binding contract stating that you reserved that room for that rate. The only person that can break that contract is you by cancelling your reservation. Also, since the hotels are all independently owned and operated chains (a franchise) that is how they get away with jacking the price up when you call them directly. If you book online or by phone through the reservation centers, you are guarenteed the national price.

See you there!

A new aspect for the 2010 edition of Performance & Style is the introduction of the Modern Muscle/Performance Pavilion. The Modern Muscle/Performance Pavilion will feature an indoor invitational display and an exclusive showfield area for owners of new model American sports cars -- known as Modern Muscle -- as well as imports that are built with performance at the forefront of the custom design process. Many automotive enthusiasts, who started in the hobby by customizing sport compacts, have moved to the newest models of domestic muscle cars. Some of the most popular models that offer many after-market upgrades and accessories are the new models of the Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger and Chevrolet Camaro.

Press Release on Modern Muscle Cars

Bring whatever you have in progress or running and join us at the tent on the showfield.

Hey Everyone! Just a quick update, in case you haven’t heard yet: If you pre-register early (see cutoff date below), they will now mail you your Showfield Sticker!! This means you get to drive straight through Gate 3 to the Showfield and not have to stop out at the Showfield Registration Office.

Stickers will be mailed to the address you registered with approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the show and they will be sent with a letter directing you where to get your Dash Cards and Goody Bags. You will NOT have to go back out to Showfield Registration for cards or bags, they will be located somewhere on grounds – the exact location is TBD.

They’re hoping that this saves you the aggravation of waiting in multiple lines outside the Gate.

Here are all the cutoff dates for all the shows:

Performance & Style – April 5th
Import & Kit – April 19th
All-Ford – May 3rd
All-GM – May 24th
All-Chrysler – June 7th
Truck – July 5th

****If you are not registered prior to these dates, you will still need to stop at Showfield Registration****

Here's some of the happenings:

3X Point SPL Competitions, Presented by Psychoacoustics -

DB DRAG, BASS RACE & PSYCHLONE AUDIO COMPETITIONS

dB Drag Racing, Bass Race and Psychlone are three of the premier formats for SPL (Sound Pressure League) competitions. Performance & Style will have all three thumping throughout the weekend. dB Drags pose two vehicles head-to-head, to see who has the loudest stereo. Bass Race is a stereo competition where competitors play commercially available music for 30 seconds and are given an average SPL score that places the competitor in 1 of 6 classes. The class is determined by score - NOT by equipment, vehicle, competitor status, installation or manufacturer; making the Bass Race a perfect format for first time competitors and street beaters alike. New this year is the Psychlone audio competition. Psychlone is a format of competition designed to capture the original excitement of a great sounding aftermarket car stereo installation. Each contestant's sound system is scored based on how loud it will play (SPL), the frequency response of the system (RTA), and installation quality. For more information on all three formats and to pre-register to participate, contact Psychoacoustics at the email below.
